The OATo Astrometry group consists of 15 full time staff and 4 contract staff and a number of students. The expertise ranges from database management/mining, instrumentation, brown dwarfs, low mass stars to studies of the galaxy and relativity. Within this group 4 full time staff and 1-2 students follow the parallax program.

OATo also collaborate with the IASF-BO institute on the development and exploitation of databases.
The IPERCOOL database has grown out of this collaboration.
