Technical Details
Primary Mirror 1.05m parabolic
Secondary Mirror 61cm flat
Focal length 9.942m
Focal Ratio: f/10
Plate Scale 20.7"/mm
Astrometrically usable field 13'
The telescope is designed to produce a large astrometrically flat field at it's cassergrain focus. The main abberation of this telescope is coma which to a radius of 6.5' is smaller than the seeing disc Pannunzio 1979 pg 5-7 .
The combination of a parabolic primary and flat secondary are specifically designed to produce an astrometrically correct field as large as possible. There exists only two telescopes of this design, the Torino one and the 1.5m at the United States Naval Observatory Flagstaff station.
