WP0 Kickoff meeting: The IPERCOOL team carried out a 2-day kickoff meeting on the 10-11/12/2010.

WP 1 Parallax, Proper Motion and Photometric Pipeline development: During the first year Youfen Wang a early stage researcher from SHAO spent 9 months at UH developing and testing the astrometric and photometric pipeline developed at OATo and UH. The result of this visit is the paper in preparation on the parallaxes of L dwarfs using the LT telescope and will be included in the IPERCOOL database. Also Qi Zhaoxiang spent 2 months at OATo developing procedures for the Absolute Proper motions Outside the Plane proper motion catalog. This work is going well and will be the subject of a paper in preparation and included in the IPERCOOL database.

WP2 Spectroscopic procedures and pipelines, applications for followup time: This work has been carried out at UH by the local team using spectra from GNIRS – Gemini, Xshooter – VLT and OSIRIS – SOAR. The results of this work is part of varied papers published and in preparation. During the 3rd year the procedures and pipelines will be exported to ON and SHAO.

WP3 Development for Database management and WWW access to observations and results: This work package has been progressing well following the visit of the experienced researcher Luciano Nicastro from INAF to SHAO and return visit of the early stage researcher Mu Lei from SHAO to INAF. The actual opening of the IPERCOOL site online and consequent access to the DB is behind schedule due to the complexities of the data sets and problems with the WWW interface. This problem will be resolved soon and we do not expect this to hinder the normal progress of the IPERCOOL project.
